Former Nigerian Minister of Aviation and the Chancellor of Athena Centre, Chief Osita Chidoka, has been appointed as a visiting lecturer at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. The offer was made by the Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Bond Anyaehie, on Wednesday at the Academic Staff Union auditorium of the university, where Chidoka had presented a lead paper at the Faculty of Management Sciences International Conference.
Mr. Chidoka, who delivered a paper entitled “Governance as the Foundation for Africa’s Future: Building Institutions that Convert Growth into Development,” argued that accountability in government builds confidence and that confidence in turn builds the trust of the governed in their government. This trust of the governed, Chidoka referred to as “infrastructure” without which “growth remains (mere) statistics.”
Confirming his acceptance of the offer, Chief Chidoka said he has accepted the offer as a visiting lecturer at Nnamdi Azikiwe University. “The Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Prof. Bond Anyaehie, offered, and I accepted, the position of visiting lecturer at the Alex Ekwueme Institute of Leadership and Innovation at the university,” Osita Chidoka announced.
With his appointment as a visiting lecturer at the Alex Ekwueme Institute of Leadership and Innovation at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Chief Chidoka is expected to teach at the Institute, which was only recently commissioned.
